Hi there,

I'm looking for some people to test a program I wrote for testing the image libraries that form part of the basis for Image2BBC. You can find details here: http://www.dfstudios.co.uk/?p=810

Specifically I'm looking for people to test the Linux and MacOS X versions. Hopefully things will work as expected, but if there are any bugs I would be grateful if you could let me know what type of system you are running it on and what actually occurs.

Many thanks! :D

Kind regards,

Francis

Ironically, after spending so much time getting it working on Linux and Mac OS, I've just noticed that I've introduced a bug in the Windows version.

Kind regards,

Francis

Hi Francis, Is it just the Windows version available to dowload on the site at the moment?

For the Colour Filter Test Tool? No, there are versions for Windows, Linux (32 and 64-bit) and Mac OS X available from the site. If you mean Image2BBC / BBC Micro Image Converter, it's just the Windows version that is available at present.

I'm still going through all the code for Image2BBC and updating everything that needs to be updated in order for it to work on all the platforms. Getting it compatible with 64-bit architectures proved to be more of a headache for me than I originally thought it would. However, I believe that the base image functions are now working as they should, and I have implemented a generalised function that can handle adjusting the brightness, contrast, etc. which can be seen to an extent in the Colour Filter Test Tool.

My next step is to look through the rest of the image processing functions, remove a lot of them in favour of the generalised function, update what needs to be updated, and gradually integrate them into what will eventually become the next version of Image2BBC.

My aim is to have something ready for show for the Play Expo in October, but I'm not making any promises at the moment.

Kind regards,

Francis

Wow, no response so far regarding bugs. Can I assume that anyone that's tried the colour tool has found it working okay?

Kind regards,

Francis

Thanks for the reply. :)

Yeah, the alpha previews won't match the fullscreen version since it has transparency. In the preview window it will have the background colour of the window showing through, in fullscreen it will be the colour of the screen. I would need to have something like a chequered background for this to work properly, but it's not high on my list at the moment.

Kind regards,

Francis
