Another month and another Retro Software release!

With the dust settling from this year's latest event in Oxford, people keeping a close eye on our past event goings-on may well have figured out that this title was coming soon!

Mixed Grill March has been inexplicably linked to the Retrovision gathering in Oxford, ever since it was first unveiled in 2010 by YakYak forum member, starshipcommand aka JoolsH.

The game itself is a delightful BBC Micro homage to Namco Bandai Games' eccentric WiiWare title Muscle March, a grey import of which proved particularly popular at Retrovision 2010. As Markie, Retrovision organiser, in his full Ming the Merciless TV animated character costume, you must chase and match the pose of Bane who has stolen your mixed grill, as he bashes his way through walls which have inexplicably been built in the way. At the end of each of four levels, the player must alternate key tapping rapidly to catch up and tackle the thief.

It's been in development for a while, but the core gameplay has been in place for a couple of years and this title has already built up a cult following at the various shows we've been too, including the last three Retrovisions. Anyone who's seen our own GregC running down the streets of Oxford in a full-on MGM pose will know what I'm talking about. Hugely popular - do not miss out on downloading this free title!

The game is available to download either as an Acorn DFS .ssd disc image or as a cassette tape image in .uef or as a turboload .wav file for use with a real beeb. In addition, Jools has released the entire source code bundle for download under the GPL license.

Please feedback on Jools' first ever Retro Software release in the Mixed Grill March forum. Feedback from the community is always a big encouragement to our hobbyist developers!

Many thanks,

Sam.
