I started work on a Spectrum version a few weeks ago, and will hopefully be finishing it over the next few days.

The idea is that the player has to throw burgers or sausages at specific baps which combine into hamburgers or hot dogs and drop on to a conveyor at the bottom of the screen. By hitting one of the two buttons at either side of the top of the screen, the player can control the direction of the conveyor, directing the burgers or hot dogs to queuing customers at either side of the screen. Fail to serve a customer in time and the player loses a life.

The player can only carry 6 burgers or sausages at a time, and fresh supplies are found in crates which drop from the top of the screen. Contact with baps or any other nasties is fatal, as one might expect.

Just returned from Replay, so without further ado here's a link to Eventureland Part One: Byte Me, based on the antics of the kitchen staff at Byte Back.

http://members.fortunecity.com/jonathan ... d/id7.html

The idea is to throw sausages at the hot dog rolls and burgers at burger baps, then send the food to the queuing customers at the sides of the screen - but try not to keep them waiting too long! The conveyor belt is controlled via the buttons in the top corners of the screen. Burgers and sausages parachute in regularly, but use this ammunition wisely as it only comes in packs of six. Drinks cans yield bonuses.

It's effectively early 1980s style gameplay which starts off frantic and gets even more so the further you get, adding an extra sprite to the proceedings every two levels. Graphics are by Craig Stevenson and tunes by Yerzmyey. It's worth playing the game in an emulator which supports the 128K/+2/+3 machines, as that way you'll hear the music.

Have fun...

I managed to completely miss this release last year as the release post was hidden in amongst the discussion about Kian's level. I've now broken out the info on it from the other topic into this new one, in case anyone else overlooked it too.

I did give Byte Me a whirl with SDLMESS 0.143 tonight but although I was able to get it to start loading, it seemed to crash as soon as I hit the space bar whichever Spectrum driver I tried it with.

I'll see if I can upgrade the emu and try it again later ... from the screenshots, it does look quite addictive!
