Hello Guys,

Well, I just realized that you have more to the forum, then the SPARSE invaders section! :D

OK, been coding since 1979, at school - saw my first computer ( ResearchMachine Z380 I think ) - got well hooked and did my first programming - BASIC and CECIL - I wonder if they still teach CECIL at school? ;)

Have done electronic's in my early years, from TV's to RADAR's, then programming professionally in the late 80s, full time 1991. Done about 50-50 games and apps stuff, working for Nokia and Disney etc ... Hmm that's the thing with programming - you do tend to move about abit.

On a personal level, I am so glad to be programming the good old Beeb, it's been a life-saver, it helps you realize why you started coding... 8-)

Right - my skills,

Assemblers - 6502 (just about there!), 68000,8080-85, 80x86, Z80
Higher level - C, C++, C##, some javascript (dont tell work I know so little! ) and some html knowledge etc - others I wont mention.

I'm happy doing any tools etc or whatever, well, any help I can give will be my thanks to the guys that have helped me over the last few months!

Right - End Message -
Thanks, Neil

Hi Andrew,

well firstly the invaders is up to BETA, and basically finished as far as I'd like to take it. As it's a learning project, I wouldn't really want to spent too much more time on it.
There are a heap of small improvements, I need to find about 220'ish bytes and then it will be able to run on the 'model b'. Dave has said he has some suggestions that I would be interested in seeing. Oh, I need to update the wiki page!! I need to remind myself! ;-)

My next task is to upload my source and the project to the site. The main reason for this, is to give new-comers to programming the BEEB a working example, that they can build and change and improve upon.

As for my next project - it's going to be a platform game.... However I still have a lot of LEARNING to do. Scrolling and better understanding of the memory of the Beeb. Having already done the invaders, I have learn a heap about how I'm going to approach this project. I won't mention anymore about the project here.

As a foot-note, I am also offering help regarding any PC development or assistance. I have several years experience developing tools for games ( sigh - 17 yrs just on the PC - I won't count the speccy or Amiga, jezz I feel old! )... I certainly don't mind helping, see - I'm a nice bloke me!!

OK, thanks for showing interest Andrew,
Neil

I see the Wiki now - it's on "WIP". For months I've avoided that thinking it was something for portable gadgets.
