I've obviously noticed that you've set up some users already (myself included) but not knowing the password I've created a new account under my sorvad ID. Can the accounts be merged in some way, or failing that can you PM me details of my existing account.

Are we all using our real names here or our usual forums ones ? What's the consensus ?

Actually, that was my doing!

I mainly did that so I could illustrate one forum per game with the author (or lead developer) as moderator.

You'll see I also re-created some of James' posts from STH regarding updates to the Two Towers (I'll make a separate post for discussing consistent ways of presenting project updates in a bit ...)


Well obviously it's up to you guys, but I really like the idea of having all members of the development team use their real names (well, First Name & Last Initial, actually).

What do others think?

I'm ok with a real name, or pseudonym, not fussed

But can the other (whichever it be) be merged with one that stays or deleted to keep things tidy ?

Oh, man. That will blow my mind after just about recognising everyone's old usernames ... if you change the pics as well, I'll have no idea who anybody is.



err .. I'm not on a development team yet, afaik.

I dunno ... I usually err on the side of paranoia when it comes to sharing my name and stuff online, esp. when it sticks around on the web permanently. I'll have a think about it ... maybe if the whole vote of the company is against me. What does the Ringbearer think?

Mmmmm... I can get paranoid to, but then I put my name all over the software I knock up, so suppose I've already crossed a line... I will go with the consensus, real names do give a bit more personal touch to it all. Does make me feel a little uncomfortable but that's probably just my personality !

First names and initial seems a good compromise though.

Oh and keeping the same avatars is definitely a good idea. Mine no longer makes much sense with my real name but realise it'll help people recognise who I am, for better and worse !
