Is it possible to obtain the source code for the image converter? How straightforward would it be to port to, say, RISC OS?

The BBC Micro Image Converter was programmed mostly in PureBasic with the current version in development being 100% in PureBasic. There isn't a version of PureBasic available for RISC OS machines plus I'm not really all that familiar with RISC OS so I doubt I will be doing a version for it, but I'm not going to rule it out completely just now.

At present versions of the BBC Micro Image Converter are being done for Linux, MacOS and Windows. A version for AmigaOS 4 is being looked at (final decision to be made once the next version is released), but would involve a shift to C or C++ since there isn't an AmigaOS 4 native version of PureBasic available.

BBC Micro Image Converter is a closed source project so I will not be giving the full source code out. However, if anyone is interested in developing a similar utility for a platform I haven't covered then I will be more than happy to give them advice.

Kind regards,

Francis.

Incidentally, there are some code snippets from previous versions of the BBC Micro Image Converter available here.

Kind regards,

Francis.

Thanks for the reply Francis. It's good to know there's such a utility out there if not for RISC OS.

There was a port of Unix Amiga Emulator (UAE) for Risc OS. If Francis does get out an Amiga port, you could possibly use that.

Sam.

There is no emulator currently available that emulates PPC based Amigas (required for AmigaOS 4).

Kind regards,

Francis.
