Having played with RI a bit the main limitations to my mind are:

- the speed (arguably not so much an issue with some emulators)

- you can still only just move up, down, L&R. So if you wanted to create another type of game with pick/drop/use/etc you can't.

That's a shame isn't it?

You can also use the Return key in Reptol, which means that you can have a large variety of things happening - the toilets in Robbo are a good example.

Oh, is that just the Return key or can you use more? In fact, is there any way to look at the manual now?

Pleasure! I agree that it's a lot more playable/usable on a sped-up emulator... but I still think it was never really a Repton game. It just felt a bit like AMOS on the Amiga... and just as clever!

Anyway, have fun!

If you didn't have disc drive and a Master 128, writing games using it was about as agreeable as AMOS on Emmerdale Farm. ;)

Well, Mr Jeffrey, your statement has made me laugh out really rather loud! Very true... And just thinking about doing that with tape brings about the same sensation as a dentist's drill hitting the pulp...

The RI manual is beginning helping me to see what's possible with the game. The most time-consuming part it seems would be the graphics. Especially if you want to define walls etc which align with eachother.
