Hi all,

Quite why I hadn't already registered here I have no idea, but it's great to see that the site is rattling along brilliantly.

As you may already have read on the STH forum, I'm writing a piece on the Electron for Retro Gamer, and rest assured the site is going to be getting a huge plug.

I'm going to give notice of forthcoming releases, so Fisherman's Quest is definitely getting a mention. One thing I'm not entirely clear on is which of the other works in progress are going to either be Elk-compatible or if they're going to have a separate Elk port.

I see Repton: The Lost Realms has a port listed as TBC - any more word on that?
There's a post saying JamesW is looking at a version of Two Towers
The Krystal Connection sounds like it's maybe getting a port

Any word on any others? Apologies if this is answered elsewhere.

Cheers,

Stu

Welcome! Will look to do this at some point after getting the beeb version sorted. Problem with this game is source code; some of the old discs have deteriorated and I'm unclear on a definitive set of source if indeed I have that at all (if only the Master's DFS had used the realtime clock and added timestamps somewhere on the disk!). Although some work was done on an Electron version it wasn't completed at the time... but the key stuff bits of experimental code to convert from the Beeb version (software scrolling routines, sprite shrinker utility, sound, etc.) is indeed there... HTH.

When should we expect to see the material that DaveM sent to you guys previously, do you know?

I'm freelancing for Retro Gamer on this, so I don't know anything about their plans or otherwise for the materials you've mentioned.

Thanks Stuart. I'll post if there's any progress with an Elk conversion of R:TLR - as I say, it wouldn't be a mammoth effort if I can piece together a complete set of source code... which I would be hopeful of given just how many of my old discs DaveM managed to recover. And a conversion of Cyroid-X would come about the same way... biggest factor in all of this is time.
