Does anyone know if Electron joystick support (though the Plus 1, I assume) work in an identical manner to the beeb?

Specifically, if I had a BASIC or machine code game written for the beeb that supported joysticks and ran perfectly in other regards on the Electron, would the joystick support "just work" or would it need modifying to work on the Electron?

Plus 1 joysticks _should_ work identically to Beeb ones.
