Found this text file on a disk image.

May be of use, after all, a little documentation is better than nothing.

Doesn't look as if I can upload the file in this forum.

If you need it, message me your email and I'll send it to you.

Ooh! Nice one :D

You can attach it, but only if you zip it first.

Or perhaps add it to the Useful Docs page of the wiki, so it doesn't get lost in the forum. That's what it's there for ... ;)

If you need more detailed instructions on how to do that, than is in the FAQ - just ask.

Sam.

Sorry Sam, I wasn't trying to encourage random attachments - I was intending to massage it into the Ismec Wiki (wot I writ) once TopBanana lobbed it in ;)

Ahh, you mean in the entry for Ismec's Monitor 2.01 on the Classic Development Tools wiki page.

Gotcha - well, so long as somebody files it somewhere, so it doesn't get lost. :D

TopBanana (Andy) sent me the Ismec instructions and it turns out not to be the original Ismec manual but is a third-party review/user-guide from an 8bs 'Hints & Tips' compilation disc, TBI48.ssd. The disc is worth a look as it contains lots of other useful information that readers may not otherwise have access to.

In light of Andy's discovery, I have updated the Classic Development Tools Wiki entry for the Ismec 2.01 Monitor Rom.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's lots of other valuable information, otherwise believed to be lost, in amongst the massive 8bs disc archive.

Nice find Andy :D

Topic resurrection. :)

Our TopBanana is back again! Andy has sourced and scanned a copy of the Monitor 2.01 manual, which has now been added to the wiki entry here.

Many thanks for your diligence in eBay scouring, sir!

Yep, it's great news.

We are still missing the accompanying cassette, however, if anyone comes across it.

I have the programs on the Ismec Monitor tape sitting on a 5.25" floppy in the UK. Next time I'm in England (haven't been home since 2008) I'll post the disc to Samwise.

BTW, I came across an earlier version 1.6 of the I.S.M.E.C. monitor (at that point called Acorn Monitor). Interestingly this earlier version works equally well with a co-processor enabled or disabled in software (which 2.01 does not).

If anyone is interested in a copy of the ROM image, let me know.

any chance you could post it to this forum? or, even better, add it to the wiki?

Cheers,

Sam.

Hi Sam,

Sorry for my tardy response. When I get a moment, I will extract an image of the ROM and post it.

Best regards,

Paul

Silly me, I should have checked - that version, along with plenty of others, is also available from The BBC Lives! link that we already use. Still, added your note about the co-processor compatibility to the wiki:
