I'm hoping to write a BBC demo at some point in the future once my 6502 assembly skills are at a sufficient level to do so. I've written a few BBC demos in the past plus I've been involved with a few on the Amiga under various guises and groups.
The best BBC demo I probably done was inspired by Doctor Who. It started off with a picture of a TV (a drawing of my Ferguson TX) displaying static and then tuning into an animated TARDIS with the Doctor Who theme tune playing. Technically it wasn't really anything impressive, but it was fun to do!

If my memory serves I also "borrowed" the theme music from one of the Doctor Who games.
These days I would be looking to do something more technically challenging and it will be interesting to see how far I can take the BBC's hardware.
Kind regards,
Francis
