Have had not end of problems that prevented me from working on Adventurescape V.
These include:
1. having to pack up almost all my bbc hardware so a house 'guest' could use the room.
2. Back problems preventing me from picking most of it up to put it back the way it was.
3. Ill health in general.
4. Breaking one of two test games I use to find bugs in the code. Naturally it was the one with all the complex puzzle test cases.
5. Breaking the game itself, and leaving it in a half finished state which made it even harder to fix.
6. Breaking the editor so it didn't read the current file format.

Current status:
1. Test game 1 is fixed (not going to be released)
2. Advanced file recovery tools created to poke around in save files to find strings/data, going to try these out on original adventurescape files sometime.
3. Game itself is actually working again, so bit it with some minor bugs.
4. Editor fixed and updated, all the functions work again, and actually reads the messages file.
5. Still looking for a few bits of hardware, all my spare CF cards have gone walkabouts for instance. Makes transferring stuff to PC rather impossible at the moment.

Hurrah. :)

Nice to hear you haven't given up on it yet. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Ask Dave F ... lol

Trying to remember what extra features I planned to add. Aside from images support and econet I have forgotten the rest it seems.

Anyway been playing around with some econet code, so far boring stuff like getting a list of clients/machines on the network. Been trying to get it working across econet bridges as well, but that code just doesn't function.

edit: problems with econet bridge code relate somehow to my using a Master Compact, works fine on a normal Master, go figure.
