Please post your high score(s) on Zap to this thread (be honest!).

If you can attach a photograph (or a screenshot) of the high score table to your post, that would be even better! :)

Oh, and if you're using an emulator, use of Save States is not allowed!

I'm off for just one more go...

(KAT, btw, is my high-score table name, it hasn't been out in a while..)

Well done Matt - doesn't suppose you remember which level you got up to?

FYI the winning score on the ZAP! competition at Byte Back 2009 was 2341!

I think it was Level 5 . I'll see how far I get 2341 gives me a target to aim for. Newly updated high score of 1562 on Level 5 .

What a game! had sore right hand after being at work all day, and 'trying' to get a high score >1000 :)

first couple of times, got around 600/700, then i got 1037,
it was at end of Area3, with 3 balls floating around and a 'worm' at the 'end of level monster' :P
then i gave up, wicked game though!

Now, whats the cheats?, or do we have to wait for Cheat It Again Joe 4 disc

There's already a Cheat It Again Joe 4, so I guess you'll have to wait for someone to compile a Joe 5!

Well I can't get anywhere near the top score, but after several very enjoyable hours of trying I have managed a score of 1436 on level 4, using a real Beeb. More practice required I think!

It's a real treat to own a "new" bbc game after all these years and Zap! is really very good indeed, so thanks again to all involved in it's release.

1436 is pretty good going and certainly better than any of my scores!

Plus you've achieved it on a real Beeb, so we know for a fact that savestates haven't been used (NOT that I'm in any way implying that Col/Matt have been cheating! ;))

No saved states of Zap were used in the creation of the high score, if they had of been then my score would be a lot more than it is, my scores are done fair and square , along with a lot of keyboard bashing and a few choice words !!!!

The aim is to beat that ByteBack high score you mentioned, see what happens after that. Does anyone know how many levels Zap has before it starts again or does it keep going with new and different aliens/formations ?

Post subject:  Re: High Scores

There are effectively 23 Levels.

Once you've zapped the last of the Aliens and receive the congratulatory message, you are presented with boss after boss after boss ad infinitum, which gives you the opportunity to increase your high score.
