Is there any chance we can resurrect the source for the latest dev build? It never made it to the wiki page... :(

Reverse-engineered source for the latest dev build has now been uploaded to the wiki.

I've also been working on fixes for the remaining bugs.

Here then is the v1.1 release candidate.

Please download and give it a try.
Comments and feedback would be most welcome.

Paul.

Sterling work, Paul. Great job archiving Neil's last version for posterity - I'm sure he'll concur if he gets a chance to look at it!

I think the 1.1 release you've proposed is also a worthy update. As far as I can tell it fixes the known bugs and the sound effect of the invaders does seem a little improved.

Full marks from me, but will be interesting to see if anyone catches any bugs I missed - I played to level 13. Hard going at the later levels, but it resets the difficulty at about level 11.

Aye, looks like a solid update to me - it's fantastic that this project has been picked up again, and is now just about ready for "production" !

P.S. How easy do you think it would be to convert to the Elk? Are you up for the challenge? ;)

It's probably doable, but too much for me to take on any time soon. I really want to get Treasure Island finished!

Perhaps someone else would be up for it now we have the source code again? ;)

Ah, so you're revisiting Treasure Island again? Brilliant! That's one I'd dearly love to see completed!

If anyone reading fancies having a crack at converting Sparse to the Electron, do speak up!!

(Hey, don't all volunteer at once!! ;) ).

Hi Neil / folks,

Is there going to be any more versions of this ace little game? It's just I have been playing it & noticed to get onto high score table you need >500 points, so got >500 points :D & then died  but it just says press Fire, and nothing happens/crashed? :?

This is also true for older version 1_0_2412

Ok for disc users I suppose (shift-break again), but not for the tape users (2mins 33sec load time) that should be at DaveM's door tomorrow :)

Cheers, Col.

Oh my LORDY!

It's been a while!

Let's get the 'Sorry I dropped off the grid, but I'm back now...' out of the way!
Work seriously got in the way, then change of job - been really busy this last year, however I do see a light at the end of the tunnel .. So, was reviewing my BB and thought I wonder if Retro still have my 'game effort' - :-)
Little did I know - !!!

Firstly, Paul - you do deserve a medal! Fantastic!

Now, I'm sure I put the final code somewhere on here, but I'll dig it up and then place it somewhere where it can at least be used.

I will keep tracks of this forum and if anyone wants - I'll hand-out my email via PM ...

Maybe - there could be a new version of Sparse-Invaders - or something else!

Anyway, you have made my day (I want to break out some quotes from On the buses but I wont!), I glad people are still enjoying it!

thanks, Neil

PS: I hope SWIFT is getting pushed and used by lots! Fantastic tool!
