Post subject:  Sparse Invaders @ RetroVision 2010
The Sparse Invaders competition took place in the evening on Fri 5th Jan and lasted for an incredible 2.5 hrs!

I had no idea that the game would be beamed onto a Projection screen, neither did I expect the sound to be hooked up to an amp (so apologies to anyone driven insane by the sound fx!).

Competition was won by Frank Gasking (of 'The Games That Weren't' website) with a whopping score of 5545. Runner up was Jamie Mann (Juice), who clocked 2610.

Frank received a Trophy plus BBC Micro versions of Elite (disc) and Chuckie Egg.

It was a surprise to win the compo, but very pleased and it plays a nice game of Space Invaders overall. I twigged basically a way of getting more of the bonus ships, but then as I scraped past level 9/10 - it looped back and got a lot easier, hence being able to clock up past 5000. Probably a one off though ;)

That is a seriously high score !! after many attempts to try and beat it, my best so far is now 4035, as shown in screen shot below

Just noticed this, but who scored out the SP in the game's title on the score sheet above? LOL! :D
