I spent quite a bit of time trying to get each screen right, so even though the instructions were a bit minimal, it wasn't too frustrating to play.

I've got a few ideas yeah, probably something simpler than an arcade adventure though as that took me far too long. Maybe a run n gun or puzzle game, something more data driven which I can generate more content for easily.
That said, I'm leaving the retro stuff alone for a while and will probably pick one of my ideas up next year.
