I found the jiffy with your disks in last week when I was rounding up cables and socket adaptors for R3PLAY ... so sorry ... please chase me up a week or so after the event!! |

Have now finally completed all 12 levels of Krystal Connection, personally I found the 2nd level was the hardest, getting the timing right on that final bit of the level, so you can put down the trap just before the droid thing comes back at you, and you have to watch out for the one on the platform below which is zooming towards you !! I have all the passwords written down if anyone wants them, or I can post them on here instead. I haven't got the best high score yet, but have a massive improvement on previous efforts, this score was achieved on Level6. I also found that the game seems to play better on RISC OS BBC emulation (BeebIt and 6502em) than on Windows BBC emulation (BeebEm), the game seems smoother isn't as jerky, and the controls seem more responsive too.

Congrats, Matt. For smoother emulation, you could also try B-Em on Windows. Personally, I don't have a problem with you posting passwords here but if you choose to do that, I think it would be best if you ROT13ed them or something, to make sure they aren't an inadvertant spoiler to anyone wanting to play through the game without assistance. Sam. |

Sam. That's what I thought, don't want to spoil it those who don't want to know the passwords, but would like to make them available to those who do and want to see the other screens. What is ROT13ed ? no idea what that's all about, how do I do that? |

ROT13 (from "rotate alphabet 13 places") is the simple Caesar-cypher encryption that replaces each English letter with the one 13 places forward or back along the alphabet, so that "The butler did it!" becomes "Gur ohgyre qvq vg!". An advantage of ROT13 over ROT(N) for other N is that it is self-inverse, so the same code can be used for encoding and decoding. Paste your text in the convertor here: http://www.rot13.com/ Sam. |

New high score of 6140, on Level 2 (on the second time round) , is this the highest known score for Krystal Connection? A couple of pointers about the game. On Level 9 there is a diamond, collect this and you are rewarded with a 1000 point bonus and also an extra life, when you complete Level 12 by collecting the Power Krystal you get another 1000 point bonus and another extra life.
