That speed looks much more playable, than your first BASIC version already - and I don't know whether you've even looked at optimising the most-used opcodes yet. I assume it would be slower still, though, on a real beeb - as a real disk drive would be slower than an emulator. It's great progress, though! Already, the speed looks about on a par with the beeb versions of The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings: Game One.
