Hi,

Given there's a number of adventure games being developed atm, I thought it would be useful if we could collate a list of the dead-tree versions of books which have been written about Text Adventures (History/Evolution, Design, Programming or Playing).

I've listed below a number of that I've already heard of. I'd appreciate any pointers to any others and recommendations of any that are particularly good, whether they are beeb-related or not.

Sam.

How To Write Adventure Games for the BBC Microcomputer Model B And Acorn Electron - Peter Killworth (Penguin Acorn Computer Library)

The Adventure Gamer's Manual by Bob Redrup (Sigma Press)

Creating Adventure Programs on the BBC Micro by Ian Watt

A Guide to playing The Hobbit by David Elkan (Melbourne House (Publishers) Ltd)

Island of Secrets (Usborne)
The Mystery of Silver Mountain (Usborne)
