Hi,

Not hugely important this one. I had a thought; I find it quite interesting to know what the Retro WIP projects and Dev. Tools are actually coded in - this is esp. true of the closed-source projects.

Anyway, I was just wondering if ppl thought adding that information to the tags already in place on the Retro WIP and Dev Tools pages might be useful, so SWIFT might become:

SWIFT Integrated Development Environment by Steve O'Leary

Target Systems: Windows
License: Freeware
Developed in: Pascal (DELPHI)

Similarly, for the Retro Software WIP projects:

The Search For The Lost Football by Francis G. Loch

Target Systems: BBC Microcomputer
License: TBC
Developed in: BBC BASIC

Anyone think it's a good idea? Or just adding clutter? It might also encourage ppl to offer to help port projects to other OSs, if they knew what the underlying language(s) in use were ...

Sam.

A nice idea, but I don't know if it is really necessary.

Kind regards,

Francis.

Why not, adds a further bit of potentially interesting information!

Democracy in action, 2:1 of those bothered enough to respond.

Francis, I put in ?s for your PC dev. tools but we can always leave them as that/remove them if you'd rather not reveal the name of the underlying technology for your projects.

Cheers, Rich.

Ooh, PureBasic, Francis. I think I noticed a while back you were using that, but I forgot. Not a language I've ever had any experience with.

One titbit of interest discovered already ... ;)

I use PureBasic for most things on the PC and 'classic' Amiga, although I also use C/C++. Some of my really old projects on the Amiga are in AMOS and Blitz Basic which I sometimes refer back to. For AmigaOS 4.0 and above I only use C/C++. On MacOS and Linux its exclusively PureBasic.

Kind regards,

Francis.

I'll update my page when I remember, if I forget, nudge me. But it is Delphi Pascal as Sam mentioned, but will be moving to Lazarus Pascal when time to convert comes up.
