Hi guys,

For those that don't regularly read the development diary for my BBC Micro Image Converter I am posting here some early screenshots of the colourise image function running on Windows, Linux and MacOS.

As you have probably noticed there are some layout issues that will need to be addressed in the Linux and MacOS versions.

I was talking to someone over the weekend regarding this program and he had passed a comment on why I am bothering to include features such as the colourise image function and was it not a waste of time if the final result is 'only' for a BBC screen? :o

Just in case anyone here is thinking along similar lines, although I wouldn't imagine so, I thought that I would post an example of the above colourised picture of Nana converted to BBC:

I think the result speaks for itself. :)

It certainly gives a nicer effect than converting to a plain greyscale. :D

Admittedly there are a couple of things in the current 0.20 release which were added purely because they were easy to implement but are probably not really of much benefit for converting images to the BBC (the solarise effect springs to mind). :roll:

The next version of the program has quite a number of new effects and features either already added or are planned to be added which are geared towards trying to get the best out of the BBC images or are part of features that have been requested and not added just for the sake of it. :)
