OK, so just when we all thought we knew
what was coming, our coding machine from the Netherlands has surprised us all over again!
This time, during the downtime between work on his greatest porting challenge to date, Kees has managed to create a quick port of yet another classic Acorn title for the oft-overlooked Acorn machine that never received an official release in the 80s. This time, it is the turn of Tim Tyler's boulder-dodging classic puzzler,
Repton.
Retro Software already has a history with this franchise, having released arguably the greatest version of this game ever created for the BBC Micro,
Repton: The Lost Realms. This latest variant is a port of the first in the series - the original
Superior Software-published game that consists of a dozen levels which need to be cleared of diamonds before the time limit expires.
Wait no longer - grab your standard Atom expanded to 32 KB RAM or setup an emulator!
More detail, screenshots and all the image downloads are available here:
http://www.retrosoftware.co.uk/reptonAs usual, source code for Kees' new port is also available for download.
We'd be delighted to hear feedback on it in the
Repton forum. Feedback from the community is always a big encouragement to our hobbyist developers to stick it through to the end of their projects.
Sam.
