Well this release announcement is long overdue ...

Forum regulars will know that David Boddie's
Jungle Journey has been available since last year and he has already started on his second project!
David first revealed his
Jungle Journey project back in August last year, and in only a short couple of months, quickly reached the milestone 1.0 release.
http://www.retrosoftware.co.uk/junglejourneyWe threw around the idea of officially launching it at an event like
Replay or the recent
Homebrew Gaming Weekend, but circumstances conspired against that, really. Fortunately for you lucky folk, David's ongoing open source development process has meant both the code and periodic releases have been available from the wiki and our Mercural repository since day one.
So this is really a courtesy post for anyone who hasn't noticed the game has been available for download since last year - and what a cracker you've missed, if you haven't played it already!
Jungle Journey directly targets the Electron, a platform which, both historically and here at RS, has more-often-than-not tended to only receive cut-down ports of games originally built for the BBC Micro. It's a delightful
Sabre Wulf-type jungle exploration and escape maze game, inspired by titles like Bug-Byte's
Dunjunz and
Ultimate Play The Game titles such as
Sabre Wulf and
Atic Atac.
Please leave feedback for the author in the
forum, on your progress through the game.
Many thanks,
Sam.
