Post subject:  Retro Software launch: Hyper Viper for Atom

Greetings!

Welcome to our third release this week. What a great start to 2012!

Kees van Oss has delivered another downloadable Acorn Atom port, this time of last year's blisteringly fast Hyper Viper!

This is another title that I failed to help out the door at the end of last year, but the extra time has helped us find and fix a minor bugette before launch. Here, then, is his port of the BBC Micro/Electron original which was first coded by Kenton Price in the 80s and tidied up and enhanced by Paul Davis with contributions from Pitfall Jones, for release last year. Kees has managed to squeeze the game into a regular Atom with a mere 12 KB RAM. More detail, screenshots and the download is available here:

Once again, complete source code for the new port is included.

Please feedback on the Atom port for Kees and/or the game in general for Kenton, Paul and PJ in the Hyper Viper forum. Feedback from the community is always a big encouragement to our hobbyist developers to stick it through to the end of their projects.

Here's hoping we can continue this string of releases further into the year. :)

Many thanks,

Sam.
