| Post subject: | Retro Software launch: Jet Set Miner for Atom |
Hi, RS supporters! Prolific RS coder Tom Walker recently released his latest emulator, Atomulator, which is the final entry in what is now his complete range of emulators for the entire mainstream Acorn family of computers - an unparalled accomplishment. To celebrate, RS is proud to present a brand new freely downloadable Acorn Atom port of one of Tom's earliest games: Jet Set Miner. Kees van Oss has taken Tom's BBC Micro/Electron port and successfully squeezed the game into an unexpanded standard Atom, including a completely new level editor. More detail, screenshots and the download is available here: http://www.retrosoftware.co.uk/jetsetminer#Atom If that wasn't generous enough, like the previous versions the complete source code for this new port is also supplied, under a GPL licence. We hope you'll check out Atomulator and consider feeding back to Tom by email and also download Jet Set Miner, where feedback can be left for Kees and Tom in the Jet Set Miner forum. Such feedback from the community is always an encouragement to our hobbyist developers to stick it through to the end of their projects. Hopefully this will also whet your appetites in time for some of the Atom stuff we're hoping to release later this year at Replay! Keep an eye on this site for further titles in the future ... Many thanks, Sam. P.S. The Retro Software community welcomes volunteers who'd like to get their hands on early releases to do some beta playtesting ... plus, as well as needing graphic artists, musicians etc. if anyone out there is of the art persuasion, we have plenty of cover-art and poster work to do as more of the projects get closer to completion. If you're interested, post your interest in the Volunteer Team forum and join in! |
