Hello new here and trying to install swift. I downloaded everything on the swift web page plus python 3.2 which wasn't. I tried to follow the instructions in the getting started video but they do not match what I downloaded. To get swift to run it says you need to install P65 and the video says you need to point swift at the P65.py python script. The P65 directory I installed does not contain a python script called P65.py so I now at a loss as to what to do. Would be grateful if someone could shed some light on this. |

Hello, I'm also new. Don't think I bothered installing python - it was a while ago (I've been lurking), maybe I did - I set the swift p65 assembler executable path to Program Files\Ophis\ophis.exe and everything seems to work ok. Love swift, really nice work. Not don't much with it but I fancy attempting to finish some games I started as a naive teen. BBC stuff still in parents loft though. |

Oh you know... lots of enthusiasm, little talent. I would read A&B Computing's Arcade pages (was it by Dave Reeder?) over and over and loved the project diaries he sometimes used to run - I seem to remember Peter Scott's Ransack dev diary? Wish I'd known about the Kevin Edwards stuff in Electron user. Spent lots of time drawing graphics for fanciful games. Lots of Basic stuff but did get into assembly before I was lured away to college with its Turbo Pascal and PC XTs. Furthest I got was a vertically scrolling top down 'shootemup'... er... with a pigeon. You controlled Percy as he 'bombed' cars. Tile based vertical scroller and a flapping Percy. I spent absolutely ages on it. After reading the projects on this site. I'm really tempted to go into my parents loft and dig it out, wonder how well my old floppies fare after 20 years? |

Actually, it wasn't ransack. It was some game that had a red bouncy ball character. Mind has gone completely. Arggh. |

I will try and get an up to date installation video done. All the videos could do with re-doing to be honest. Just a time thing that prevents it. |
